Abstract/Description: | Nineteen trait-specific selections from germplasm (Table 1.1.2a) along with checks, GC-3, GCH-7 and DCS-107 (only at rainfed locations) have been evaluated at four locations viz., S. K. Nagar and Mandor under irrigated conditions, and Palem and IIOR, Hyderabad under rainfed conditions. The yield data from Palem centre was not considered because of error in recording the data. Performance of trait-specific accessions under irrigated, rainfed and across locations was given in Data Tables. OVer the locations, RG-3445 recorded the highest mean seed yield (2267 g/net plot) with 4% increase in yield over hybrid check, GCH-7 (2174 g/net plot) and 10% increase over the best variety check, GC-3 (2097 g/net plot). RG-3798 recorded the longest effective length of primary spike (58 cm) and the highest number of capsules on primary raceme (62), and RG-2740 exhibited the shortest plant height (72 cm) across the locations. |
