dc.description.abstract | Feeding trial on the effect of prebiotic, probiotic and synbiotic on serum biochemical and immunological status of Vencob broiler chickens were studied up to six weeks. Four dietary treatments taken were 1- control group with basal diet, 2- basal diet supplemented with prebiotic, 3- basal diet supplemented with probiotic and 4- basal diet supplemented with synbiotic. The serum calcium and phosphorus levels were significantly (P<0.05) higher in synbiotic group, probiotic group and prebiotic group as compared to control group. The serum total cholesterol and serum triglyceride concentrations were significantly (P<0.05) lower in dietary treatments as compared to the control group. There were significantly (P<0.05) higher antibody titre in dietary supplemented group as compared to control group. In conclusion, non-antibiotic growth promoters might be promising alternative for antibiotic growth promoters in livestock and poultry feed. | en_US |
