dc.description.abstract | Safflower is an important oilseed crop grown in rabi season in India. The average oil content in safflower cultivars is around 28%. The objective of the present investigation is improving oil content in safflower beyond the existing level. Multiple crosses were attempted among different promising inbred lines possessing oil content 28-30%. Selections were made in different filial generations for high oil and finally isolated lines possessing more than 36% oil contnet. | en_US |
