Abstract/Description: | The leguminous crops like Indian bean, cluster bean and cow pea has a potential to fright the problems of protein and minerals in the malnutrition affected tribal areas. Therefore, documentation of traditional crop knowledge and dissemination of information relating the indigenous plant food utilization is very essential for solving nutritional problems. Apart from this, these beans forms excellent forage and they gives a heavy vegetative growth and covers the ground so well that it checks the soil erosion. As a leguminous crop, it fixes the atmospheric nitrogen and boosts the crop health. By introducing the above mentioned advanced agronomic practices would bring the tremendous increase in the crop yields and ultimately it increases socio economical conditions of the tribal people. |
