dc.description | Extended Summaries of National Conference on Enhancing productivity of oilseeds in changing climate scenario held at ICAR-DGR, Junagadh from 7-9 April, 2018 | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | A set of 27 safflower germplasm accessions found promising under early rabi sowing were selected for evaluation during rabi season of 2012-13 and 2013-14. The trial was conducted in randomized block design at two locations Akola and Solapur. Soil moisture content at different crop growth stages estimated through gravimetric method indicated that there was continuous decline in soil moisture content during crop growth period ranging from 31 to 42% in the initial stage; 18-22% at flowering and 8-15% at maturity. The differences in seed yield among the accessions were significant at both the locations during both the years. Based on consistent performance across two locations and two years in terms of seed yield and rainfall use efficiency, five best accessions GMU 2347 (IC-337891), GMU 2644, GMU 2648, GMU 3266 and GMU 3438 (IC-442400) were identified. Of these, two safflower germplasm accessions GMU 2347 and GMU 3438 which performed on par to the check are suitable for utilization in breeding programme for better adapted cultivars for moisture stress situations. | en_US |
