dc.description | Banana and plantain are the premier fruit crops of India. dc.description.abstract | 'Nendran' (AAB), a widely distributed plantain cultivar grown in Tamil Nadu and Kerala is heavily infested with root-lesion nematode, PratylenclIus cojJeae. The present study was conducted to find out the efficacy of organic amendments for the management of root-lesion nematode, P coffeae in Nendran banana. Among different organic amendments viz., neem cake, groundnut cake, castor cake, red gram dust, black gram dust, pressmud and poultry manure applied in root region, neem cake @ 200g/plant registered maximum plant growth with significant reduction in root lesion index and nematode populations followed by castor and groundnut cakes. Among the chemicals, Cadusafos at both levels had exhibited cxcellent plant growth with significant reduction in nematode population followed by carbofuran treatment. | en_US |
