dc.description.abstract | With changing scenario worldwide, the aquatic animals and aquaculture industry of India is facing many challenges both in terms of production and quality of primary and secondary products. In order to compete in international market we need to improve the quality which intern demands safe aquatic animal health. Control and eradication of the aquatic animal diseases needs a thorough understanding of the disease epidemiology. Moreover, epidemiology has occupied a major role in advancing our understanding of the nature of diseases, and also converging and directing disease-control activities. The other aspects of epidemiology are to aid in the planning and development of health services and programs, to formulate the surveillance and reporting system for particular disease. The national programs of disease surveillance increase the awareness about transboundary pathogens and also beneficial at establishing disease free zones within the country and also for better health management through capacity building. | en_US |
