| Abstract/Description: | SOIL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES FOR 12 TYPICAL PROFILES EXPOSED AT VASAD ( GUJARAT) ARE REPORTED . CONSIDERING EROSION RATIO AS A QUALITATIVE EXPRESSION OF SUSCEPTIBILITY TO EROSION FOR LAYERS IN THE PROFILES AND OTHER INFLUENCING FACTORS LIKE CLIMATE, TOPOGRAPHY AND LANDUSE , THE POSSIBILITIES OF SHEET AND GULLY EROSION ARE DISCUSSED. THE BEHAVIOUR OF EROSION CAN BE PREDICTED BY CONSIDERING THESE FACTORS. CLAY RATIO, MOISTURE EQUIVALENT RATIO ARE CORRELATED WITH DISPERSION RATIO , PERCENT CLAY AND COLLOID MOISTURE EQUIVALENT RATIO ARE CORRELATED WITH EROSION RATIO. |
