dc.description.abstract | COMPOSITION OF WATER STABLE AGGREGATES LARGER THAN 0.25 mm DIAMETER IN FOUR OOTACAMUND SOIL SERIES WAS EVALUATED FOLLOWING THE MODIFIED WET SIEVING METHOD OF YODER AS DESCRIBED IN THE HAND BOOK OF U.S SALINITY LABORATORY STAFF. EXCEPT FOR CONCRETION LAYERS , THE SOILS WERE FOUND TO CONTAIN HIGH AMOUNT OF WATER STABLE AGGREGATES RANGING FROM 34.2 % TO 93/5 . ORGANIC CARBON , CLAY, SEQUIOXIDES AND EXCH. Ca CONTENT OF SOILS WERE FOUND POSITIVELY CORRELATED WITH THE AMOUNT OF AGGREGATION . THE ORGANIC CARBON AND CLAY CONTENT WERE FOUND TO INFLUENCE THE DEGREE OF AGGREGATION. MULTIPLE CORRELATION STUDIES SHOW THAT PERCENTAGE ORGANIC CARBON AND PERCENTAGE CLAY GIVES A CORRELATION COEFFICIENT OF 0,79 | en_US |
