| Abstract/Description: | THREE YEARS AVERAGE RESULTS OF AN EXPERIMENT ON WEED CONTROL IN RAINFED MAIZE CROP INDICATED THAT UNDER SHALLOW TILLAGE , WEED GROWTH WAS AS HIGH AS 7.2 t/ha WHICH COULD BE BROUGHT DOWN TO 3.5 t/ha BY COMBINED EFFECT OF DEEP TILLAGE AND SEMAZINE APPLICATION. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE SAME TREATMENT BROUGHT DOWN LOSS OF NUTRIENTS FROM 53, 18, 24 kg/ha TO 25,8 ,11 kg/ha OF N , P , K RESPECTIVELY AND RESULTED IN INCREASED ILED OF MAIZE WHICH WAS 2.8 TIMES THAT UNDER SHALLOW TILLAGE. |
