| Abstract/Description: | A FIELD EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED AT KOTA ( RAJASTHAN) TO STUDY THE COMPATIBILITY OF FIELD CROPS VIZ. SORGHUM ( CSH-5) , SORGHUM +PIGEONPEA (LOCAL) , BLACKGRAM (T-9), GREENGRAM (PS-16) AND CASTOR (ARUNA) DURING KHARIF AND TARAMIRA (LOCAL) AND SAFFKOWER(NO-10) DURING RABI WITH LEUCAENA LEUCOCEPHALA TREE LINE DID NOT HAVE ANY ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE YIELD OF KHARIF CROPS DURING INITIAL TWO YEARS. THE YIELD REDUCTION IN GRAIN YIELD UPTO 10 m DISTANCE WAS 25, 29,31 AND 37 AND 38% IN SORGHUM , CASTOR, SORGHUM+PIGEONPEA, GREENGRAM AND BLACKGRAM, RESPECTIVELY , AS COMPARED TO 20-30 m SEGMENT. |
