| dc.description.abstract | TO STUDY THE PERFORMANCE O SUBABUL AND TO FIND OUT SUITABLE FIELD CROPS AS INTERCROPS , A STUDY WAS INITIATED IN KHARIF , 1981 UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS AT KOTA. THE GRAIN YIELDS OF DIFFERENT INTERCROPS WERE REDUCED DUE TO COMPETITION WITH SUBABUL. THE GRAIN YIELD REDUCTIONS WERE 153, 285 AND 134 KG IN SORGHUM , PIGEONPEA + SORGHUM AND PIGEONPEA+ BLACKGRAM WHICH CORRESPOND TO 9.5 , 13.9 AND 12.9% LOWER YIELD RESPECTIVELY AS COMPARED TO THEIR STANDS WITHOUT SUBABUL. THE AVERAGE (1981-1986) MAXIMUM GREEN FODDER YIELD ( 35t/ha) WAS OBTAINED FROM SUBABUL PLANTED AT 075 m X 0.25 m SPACING FOLLOWED BY 3.75m x .25M (13.14T/HA) AS PURE CROPS. FODDER YIELD FURTHER REDUCED BY 43.3 ,80.6 AND 31/7% DUE TO INTERCROPPING WITH SORGHUM , PIGEONPEA+ SORGHUM AND PIGEON PEA+ BLACK GRAM. | en_US |
