dc.description.abstract | AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED ON INTERCROPPING AT KOTA ( RAJASTHAN ) DURING 1976-80. PIGEONPEA+ BLACKGRAM (1:1) WAS HIGHEST IN GRAM YIELD FOLLOWED BY PIGEONPEA + SORGHUM (1:1) AND PIGEONPEA+ GREENGRAM (1:1) GIVING 1583, 1495 AND 1344 kg/ha , RESPECTIVELY AND AR PAR WITH PIGEONPEA+ SORGHUM (1:1) IN ENERGY VALUE OF GRAIN YIELD (5.31 , 5.32 AND 4.56 MILLION K calories/ha , RESPECTIVELY). INTERCROPPING IN 1:1 RATIO WAS EITHER SUPERIOR OR AT PAR WITH 1:2 AND 1:3 RATIOS. GREENGRAM WAS MOST CONSISTENT OVER FOUR YEARS (cv 45%) FOLLOWED BY BLACKGRAM (cv 49%), PIGEONPEA (cv 61%) AND SORGHUM (cv 79%) . INTERCROPPING RECORDED HIGHER AINFALL PRODUCTIVITY (15- 18 kg grain/cm rain) THAN PURE PIGEONPEA (10kg grain/cm rain) , HIGHER INCOME BY 155 TO 208% THAN PURE PIGEONPEA. | en_US |
