| Abstract/Description: | Nets of different mesh sizes ranging from 14 to 150 mm operated to target different groups of fishes were prevalent in Mumbai coast.Synthetic materials like polyamide had almost completely replaced the natural fibre in gillnets Mumbai coast. Polyamide (PA) monofilament netting were used to target oil sardine, mackerel and while as PA multifilament were usually used to target seer fish, white sardine and shrimp. |
