dc.description.abstract | RESULTS OF TRIAL IN WHICH THREE DEPTHS OF PLANTING ( 60,90 AND 120 cm) AND TWO LEVELS OF MANURING ( NO MANURING AND 5 kg FYM PER PIT) WERE STUDIED AT VASAD ( GUJARAT) DURING 1965-67 , REVEALED THAT DEEP PLANTING ( 120cm) GAVE SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER HEIGHT AND DIAMETER GROWTH, LEAF SIZE, LEAF MOISTURE PERCENT, RELATIVE TURGIDITY OF LEAVES , PROLONGED GROWTH PERIOD AND HIGHER SURVIVAL PERCENT OF PLANTS OVER SHALLOW DEPTH ( 60cm) PLANTING, SIMILARLY MANURED PLANTS WERE HEALTHIER AS COMPARED TO UNMANURED ONES. | en_US |
