| Abstract/Description: | Considering the SWOT analysis, the present initiative zeroed down to in three villages under Uruvakonda and Vajrakarur mandals of Ananatapur district of Andhra Pradesh considering the positive response of the farming community to venture safflower production in particular. These mandals were selected base on the LGP, SOIL TYPE, the prevailing cropping pattern, the biotic and abiotic stresses in the production of competing crops, the performance of competing crops especially chick pea (Bengal gram) and above all the economic returns of the rainfed farmers. |
