| Abstract/Description: | Not THE PAPER BROADLY DEALS WITH SOIL, LAND AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION. A RECENT UNEP/ ISRIC GLOBAL SOIL DEGRADATION ASSESSMENT STUDY INDICATED THAT ABOUT 1200 MILLION HA OF LAND IS DEGRADED IN ASIA , 400 M HA IN EUROPE , 245 M HA IN SOUTH AMERICA, 150 M HA IN CENTRAL AND NORTH AMERICA AND 112 M HA IN AUSTRALIA. THE AUTHORS HAVE EMPHASIZED THE NEED OF DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE EXTENSION STRATEGIES TO REHABILITATE DEGRADED LANDS TO SAVE THE PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS. |
