| dc.description.abstract | Argulosis, a disease caused by Argulus spp. of ectoparasites in scaly fish, is a global concern for the freshwater aquaculture industry. Its impact has been widely felt due to the developing resistance of the parasite to anti-parasitic drugs available today and the magnitude of loss to the sector in terms of growth reduction, mortality and drug use. This article discusses current management scenarios and development in this research field over the years for its long term control through vaccination, and challenges in developing effective vaccine candidates to Argulus spp. | en_US |
