| Abstract/Description: | Oilseeds are attacked by many insect pests at different stages of the crop. Many soil borne pests like white grubs, sucking pests like aphids, thrips, whiteflies, leafhoppers and many defoliators like semiloopers, spodoptera litura, hairy caterpillars cause direct damage to foliage. Some of the lepdopteran pests like capsule borer, Helicoverpa will cause immense damage to developing seeds in many of the oilseed crops. In this chapter insect pests of oilseed crops grown in Zone X of ATARI were described and possible and effective management methods are described. |
