Abstract/Description: | his study was intended to assess the influence of herd structure on the seroprevalence of CCHFV in bovines. This serological study was conducted during 2020 and included 591 serum samples of bovines collected randomly from the eight districts of Gujarat. The higher and lowest CCHFV seropositivity was revealed in Dahod (25.92%) and Anand (12.65%) districts respectively. The overall CCHFV seropositivity in bovines was 14.89% (95% CI 12.02-17.76). The higher CCHF seroprevalence of 15.10% (95% CI 11.67-18.54) was observed among bovines reared as individual herd than mixed herd (14.36%, 95% CI 9.15-19.58). The cattle in mixed-and individual herds did not yield a significant difference in seropositivity (15.21 vs 15.75%). However, buffaloes in the mixed herd (13.41%, 95%CI 6.03-20.79) had higher anti-CCHFV antibodies than individual herd (11.76%, 95%CI 4.10-19.42). Bovines with conventional type housing pattern had higher seropositivity of 17.79% than that of 14.16% in bovines with loose housing type. The CCHFV seropositivity in bovines with and without tick control treatment was 14.70% and 16.21%, respectively. Also, the Chi-square analysis revealed no association between CCHFV seroprevalence and herd structure, sex, species, housing pattern and tick treatment.
