Complete Details of Technology: :
The variety, IISR Amrit, is a clonal selection (Acc. 347) from the vast repository of mango ginger germplasm maintained at ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research. It is a high yielding mango ginger variety with a yield potential of 45.75 t/ha. The rhizomes are bold and plumpy. Light yellow core of rhizomes, desirable flavor with myrcene and β pinene. The essential oil content is 0.32%. Recommended for all Mango ginger growing regions of India viz., Kerala, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and North eastern Hills of India. The variety is recommended for release during the XXXIV Annual group meeting of ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices held during 30 October – 01 November 2023 at College of Horticulture, University of Horticulture (Campus), Bengaluru.
