A one day meeting was organised on 18 May 2017 to finalise the programme for Technology Demonstration Component of NICRA. The meeting was chaired by Dr.A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension)-ICAR and Co-chaired by Dr.K. Sammi Reddy, Director (Acting), CRIDA, Hyderabad. Dr. A.K. Singh emphasised the need for scaling up of the proven resilient practices and to address the complexity associated with the climatic variability. He stressed the NICRA villages be models for the climate resilience, doubling farm incomes, small farm mechanisation, low cost agriculture and integrated farming systems. Dr. Sammi Reddy, Director, CRIDA in his opening remarks explained the approach adopted and the work accomplished so far in TDC by KVKs. He expressed the need to focus towards achieving quantifiable outputs in the next phase. Dr SK Dhyani from NRM Division ICAR, explained the climatic variability in the country, the impacts of the NICRA programme and explored the opportunities for convergence with other developmental programs. Dr M Osman, Co-PI welcomed the participants. Dr JVNS Prasad, Co-PI presented the way forward for the TDC of NICRA for the next three years. This was followed by detailed presentations by Directors/ nodal officers of ATARIs from eight zones. The detailed technical programme of each KVK will be deliberated at ATARI level and will be communicated to CRIDA. Dr. M. Prabhakar, PI, NICRA-CRIDA, Hyderabad in his remarks spoke about the expectations from TDC of NICRA. Dr.Rajbir Singh, Director, ATARI-Zone I; Dr. S.S.Singh, Director, ATARI-Zone II; Dr B.C.Deka, Director, ATARI-Zone III; Dr Y.G.Prasad, Director, ATARI-Zone V; Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ATARI-Pune; Dr Anjani Kumar Singh, Director, ATARI-Patna, along with nodal officers from ATARIs, Directors of Extension from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur; PJ Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad; ANG Ranga State Agricultural University, Guntur; Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati and scientists from CRIDA participated in the meeting. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. K.Nagasree, Co-PI, TDC-NICRA, CRIDA, Hyderabad.
