Abstract/Description: | The amount of soluble carbohydrates present in a single floret of cut gladiolus increased with floret opening and gradually decreased with senescence. Soluble proteins were found to be higher in bud stage and at fully opened stage. Pulsing with 20 per cent sucrose significantly increased the amount of soluble carbohydrates and soluble proteins. |
