| Abstract/Description: | Carotene and retinol levels were estimated in the milk of Marwari and Parbatsar does and Tharparker cows, along with the effect of seasonal variation in Parbatsar does. Data indicated higher milk carotene in Marwari does than Tharparker cattle during early summer. Unlike carotene, retinol was high in Parbatsar does milk followed by Marwari and in cattle milk, during early summer. Carotene was not detectable in the milk of Parbatsar does during early summer and spring seasons but highest retinol was recorded in the milk of these animal during late summer. |
