Abstract/Description: | The quality of irrigation water was studied from coastal districts of Konkan collecting the water samples during pre-monsoon and post-monsoon from five districts. It was observed in post monsoon (Nov-Dec., 2014) that average pH and EC ranged from 5.08 to 8.60 and 0.01 to 8.91 dSm-1, respectively RSC and SAR values varied from 0 to 44.10 and 0.0 to 15.86. In pre-monsoon (April-May, 2015), average pH and EC value ranged from 6.34 to 8.90 and 0.01 to 13.79 dSm-1, respectively RSC and SAR values varied from 0 to 18.10 and 0.13 to 15.90. In pre-monsoon Raigad, Ramagiri and Sindhudurg districts showed saline range i.e. 65.21, 62.96 and 37.50 per cent. From total samples collected 34% irrigation water samples were saline during post-monsoon and 58% during pre-monsoon |
