Abstract/Description: Hybrid rice technology is the most feasible and readily adoptable option for increasing rice production to meet the demand of increasing population for rice. Hence, the present study was conducted to compare the costs, returns and technical efficiency of hybrid vs. HYV rice cultivation in Uttar Pradesh, one of the major hybrid rice growing States of India. The results revealed that hybrid rice cultivation involved more technical efficiency than that of HYV rice cultivation
