| dc.description.abstract | Plants require essential nutrients for their optimum growth and development. The majority of essential nutrients are taken up the plants from the soil. Although soil is the storehouse of majority of the essential nutrients, many a time, these essential nutrients may not be made available to the plant growth in a proper proportion because of soil related constraints and the climatic conditions. For proper growth and development, it is very essential to supply the nutrients through fertilization based on the soil supplying capacity (soil fertility). The soil and plant analysis is one the tool that is widely used for assessing the nutrient status and thereby fertilize the crops. In this paper, how soil and plant analysis aids in assessing the fertility status and thereby help in fertilizing the agroforestry systems is discussed. | en_US |
