Abstract/Description: | Cladodes of the fruiting and spineless type cactus pear were dipped in 500, 1000 or 1500 ppm IBA or 250, 500 or 1000 ppm NAA or IAA 15 minutes before planting in a field experiment conducted in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India during 1998-99. Ninety days after transplanting, the number of roots per plant, as well as the length, and fresh and dry weight of roots increased with increasing IBA and IAA, with 1500 ppm IBA exhibiting a more marked effect. |
