Abstract/Description: A castor inbred line, CI-2 with moderate resistance to gray mold was developed through progeny selection from the cross DPC9 X RG1139. This line showed promise for gray mold resistance in the screenings under laboratory (incubation of inoculated capsules in growth chamber), artificial epiphytotic (inoculation of spikes of the plants grown in poly house with moisture, temperature and humidity control) and field conditions.
