Abstract/Description: | Abiosynthesis process was developed for synthesis and delivery of magnesium nanoparticles to wheat plants through foliar application. This is an efficient technique capable of generating magnesium nanoparticles by fungal protein Aspergillus brasiliensis TFR 23 with controllable particle sizes (<5.9 nm). The nanoparticles were characterized, applied to leaf surfaces at optimum concentration (20 ppm) and enter through the stomata, avoiding direct interaction with soil system, eliminating potential ecological risks. The results revealed that nanoparticles could enhance the solar light absorption (24.9%) of the leaf. The different beneficial enzyme activities (dehydrogenase, esterase, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, nitrate reductase) was significantly improved resulted improvement in native mobilization of nutrients by plants and more uptake of Fe, Cu, Zn, P and Mg. There was significant improvement in root length, number of tips and root biomass due to nano-Mg application. The grain and dry matter yield under green house condition at crop harvest was improved between 38.7 and 63.2%. The results suggested that biosynthesized magnesium nanoparticles have potential to agricultural application for higher crop production. |
