| Abstract/Description: | AMONG EIGHT CROP ROTATIONS STUDIED FOR FOUR YEARS ON A DEEP DHOOLKOT SILTY CLAY LOAM SOIL UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS , HIGHEST NET PROFIT OF RS 1622 PER HA PER YEAR WAS OBTAINED WITH MAIZE- PEA ROTATION, FOLLOWED BY MAIZE- WHEAT WITH A NET PROFIT OF RS 1080 PER HA PER YEAR. ROTATIONS WITH SUNHEMP AS GREEN MANURE CROP OR COWPEA IN KHARIF DID NOT PROVE ECONOMICAL. HOWEVER, NONE OF THE ROTATIONS HELPED CONSERVE SOIL MOISTURE FOR RABI CROPS. |
