| Abstract/Description: | EXPERIMENTS WERE CONDUCTED ON THE BLACK SOILS AT BELLARY DURING 1975-78 ON THE FEASIBILITY OF DOUBLE CROPPING WITH LEGUMES FOLLOWED BY CEREAL/OILSEED CROP UNDER DRY-CUM -WET IRRIGATION WITH TUNGABHADRA WATER. RESULTS INDICATED THAT AMONG DIFFERENT CROPS SEQUENCES TRIED NET RETURNS OF RS 6,393 , RS 5895 AND RS 4562 PER ha COULD BE REALISED WITH COWPEA- JOWAR , MOONG-JOWAR AND COWPEA-MAIZE DOUBLE CROPPING COMBINATION WITH BENEFIT COST RATIO WORKING OUT TO 3.63, 3.44 AND 2.83 , RESPECTIVELY |
