| dc.description.abstract | THE EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED AT DEHRADUN TO FIND OUT SUITABLE MAIZE VARIETIES WHICH COULD COMPETE WITH NATURAL WEEDS. MAIZE HYBRID GANGA-2 GAVE HIGHER YIELD THAN OTHER MAIZE VARIETIES. ATRAZINE APPLICATION @ 1 KG a.i/ha RESULTED IN MORE GRAIN YIELD THAN MANUAL WEEDING. NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN THE NUMBER AND AMOUNT OF WEEDS/M2 FOR DIFFERENT VARIETIES WAS OBSERVED BUT WEEDING LEVELS SHOWED SIGNIFICANT RESULTS IN THIS RESPECT. | en_US |
