dc.description.abstract | THE PAPER DESCRIBES REGENERATION TECHNIQUES OF JACKFRUIT ( KATHAL) FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF ITS SEEDLINGS . THE SEGMENTS OFF NODES , INTERNODES , LEAVES AND COTYLENDONS WERE EXCISED FROM IN VITRO RAISED SEEDLINGS ANDWERE STERLIZED WITH SODIUM HYPOCHLORIDE (5%) SOLUTION FOR 17 MINUTES. THE EXPLANT MATERIALS WERE EXPOSED TO ULTRA- VIOLET RAYS FOR 2 HOURS AND CULTURED ON MURANSHINGE AND SKOONG'S (MS) MEDIUM SUPPLEMENTED WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF D- NAPTHALENE ACETIC ACIS ( NAA- 0-20 um/1) AND BENZYLAMINO PURINE ( BAP, -40um /1) FOR CALLUSING. AMONG DIFFERENT MEDIA MS SUPPLEMENTED WITH NAA ( 10 um/1) AND BAP (20 um/1) WAS FOUND TO BE THE BEST FOR MAXIMUM CALLUS INDUCTION AND POLIFERATION . UPON TRANSFER TO THE SHOOT REGENERATION MEDIUM ; MS SUPPLEMENTED WITH NAA ( 5um/1) AND BAP ( 20 um/1) , HEALTHY AND FAST GROWING SHOOT INITIALS WERE APPEARED.WITHIN 70 DAYS FROM THE TRANSFER. | en_US |
