Abstract/Description: FILED STUDIES WERE CONDUCTED FOR THREE YEARS (1986-87 TO 1988 TO 1989) ON BOULDERY RIVERBED OF DOON VALLEY TO DETERMINE THE SOIL- WATER - PLANT RELATIONSHIPS AND PRODUCTIVITY OF SWEET ORANGES cv MALTA BLODD RED ( CITRUS SINENSIS) IN RESPONSE TO IRRIGATION SCHEDULE AND PLANT SPACINGS . IRRIGATION AT 15 DAYS INTERVAL WAS FOUND COMPARATIVELY BETTER TO MAINTAIN SOIL MOISTURE REGIME AND PLANT WATER STATUS AND EXHIBITED BETTER PLANT GROWTH (14% MORE TREE HEIGHT AND 52% MORE CROWN THAN CONTROL) AND PRODUCED MORE FRUITS OF BETTER QUALITY . SPACING NEITHER AFFECTED PLANT GROWTH NOR YIELD AND QUALITY OF FRUITS.
