| Abstract/Description: | Time Series models have the limitations of requiring more observations in order to construct the model. Sometimes, we usually are able to make only a few observations due to rapid innovation new technologies, in such circumstances grey model can be used as it requires as few as four observations to construct the model. In this study, we have utilized grey model for forecasting hybrid rice yield (1994-95 to 2009-10) of Bihar state of India as only few observations were available for model building. In addition, we used genetic algorithm technique to find the optimal parameters of the model. It is observed that implementation of genetic algorithm improved the precision of the model. |
