Abstract/Description: This paper discusses the various statistical and computational methods applied for detection of synonymous codon usage patterns in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Synonymous codons are not equally used by organism. This phenomenon is called codon usage bias, which exist in a wide range of biological systems.
