dc.description.abstract | Global climate change is now unequivocal and resulting in increase in temperature, differential rain fall pattern and causing unpredictable, extreme weather events worldwide. Climate change has greater impact on agriculture production and can affect food security by changing physiology of crop plants and associated environment. As insects are cold blooded animals, climate change impact significantly on insects than other warm blooded animals. Increased temperature and elevated carbon dioxide in the environment causes the changes in the physiology, behavior of insect pests and their natural enemies, leads to insect pest outbreaks in the future. Current pest management options may no longer sustain in the future for effective control of pest. Hence, we need to explore for new pest management options or modification of existing practices to encounter the pest problems during climate change scenario. | en_US |
