| Abstract/Description: | Information and communication technologies (ICT) tools can facilitate dissemination of need based and farmer centric information at an affordable cost to India’s rural population. Dissemination of the right information at the right time to the right person using the right channel is very critical especially in addressing constraints or challenges faced by farmers. However, the application of ICT in agriculture requires addressing impediments to adoption and diffusion of such technologies. Such impediments include the lack of awareness, low literacy, infrastructure deficiencies, and language and cultural barriers in ICT usage. |
