| Abstract/Description: | A methodology was developed for collecting agricultural statistics using remote sensing data in Meghalaya. The satellite data utilised was georegistered using Landsat images. In another study, a simplified survey procedure for estimation of area and production of horticultural crops was developed in two states namely, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh (H.P.) which is cost effective and less time consuming. The alternative methodology is easy to implement and provides estimates for more than one fruit/vegetable at district level. |
