| dc.description.abstract | The exponentially increasing human population and the critical food supply have engaged the efforts of man in exploring the various avenues of food production and its augmentation to meet the requirement. This is being accomplished through the introduction of high yielding varieties of food and cereal crops, application of fertilisers and expansion of areas of cultivation in the agriculture front and introduction of quick-growing, quickmaturing and quality livestock along with the husbandary and managerial principles. In the fisheries sector, the production is being increased by means of modern technology of fishing, establishment of processing and other infrastructural facilities and recently through wider application of aquacultural activities. | en_US] |
