| dc.description.abstract | The world production of cephalopods is briefly reviewed with observations on the situation in India. The methodologies adopted for the present studies on the taxonomy, aspects of biology and stock assessment of the resources of squids and cuttlefishes in some of our fishing grounds are outlined.
