dc.description.abstract | Water productivity is low in rainfed agriculture. Bridging crop water deficits during dry spells through supplementary irrigation stabilizes production and enhances water productivity dramatically. Soil and stubble management can enhance water productivity by increasing infiltration and water storage in the soil and reducing evaporative losses. Conservation tillage and optimum fertilizer use bring about considerable increase in crop yields and water productivity. | en_US |
