ICAR-IASRI Report of Krishi Unnati Mela 2018

Abstract

The stall of ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi at the Krishi-Unnati-Mela-2018 at No-E-20 was used as a platform to appraise/inform/disseminate/educate the visitors about the digital India mission and its applications in Agriculture in general and the applications of Mobile Apps and Web-Portals for the benefit and knowledge dissemination to the farming community and stakeholders. The Mobile Apps developed by ICAR-IASRI viz KVK-mobile app, Pashu-Paln-app and Sukar-Palan-app were demonstrated live to the farmers along with the Information available on KVK-Portal and KRISHI-portal and the ways and means to fetch the information of interest from these apps and portals. KVK-portal and Mobile App pamphlets were distributed to the farmers. These mobile applications were installed on the Mobile Phones of the stakeholders. Students from various disciplines were also provided information about the admission process and other related information particularly about the Agriculture Portal. More than 500 visitors (including farmers, researchers, scientists, students, senior officials from the Council and other distinguished guests) were provided information about the Portals, Mobile Apps etc. They were also appraised about the ICAR-National-Agricultural-Science-Museum. Nearly 100 farmers were mobilized from MGMG groups and personal contacts.
