Abstract/Description: | Wilt of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is one of the most important known soil borne disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum £ sp. carthami. Among the three different dosages of Trichoderma viride,Tv2 and Trichoderma harzianum, Th4d, T viride, Tv2 @ 15g1kg, T harzianum, Th4d @IOg and 15g1kg were observed to be effective against safflower wilt with maximum reduction of disease severity over pathogen check (75-78.6%). Apart from this, significant increase in yield was observed in safflower crop in all biocontrol treatments compared to pathogen check. Two Trichoderma isolates T harzianum, Th4d @IOglkg, T harzianum, Th4d @15g1kg and Carbendazim@2g1kg+ T viride, B-16 @ 10glkg resulted in higher yield (577, 556 and 564 kg/ha) over pathogen check (230 kg/ha). |
