Abstract/Description: | A multilocation testing of 15 promising safflower genotypes against Fusarium wilt in the wilt sick plots of different AICRP centres viz., Solapur (M.S.), Tandur (A.P.) and Phaltan (M.S.) was carried out during rabi 2007-08 for identifying resistant sources. Out of 15 safflower genotypes, GMU-3771 recorded immune reaction (0% wilting) to Furasium wilt at all the three locations, whereas six other genotypes viz., GMU-llS6, GMU-1199, GMU-1S03, GMU-3547, GMU-3661 and GMU-4983 were found free from wilt at Solapur and Tandur location. Among the different promising safflower genotypes, GMU-3992 recorded highest seed yield (1066 kg/ha) followed by GMU3900 (1022 kglha) and GMU-3342 (993 kglha). The data regarding per cent seed hull and seed oil content indicated that GMU-1199 recorded the minimum seed hull content (36.4%) coupled with highest seed oil content (30%). |
