Abstract/Description: Anabas is small fish generally preferred by local folks. It is not normally cultivated and grows in wild habitat. Due to the carnivorous nature of the anabas fish it is considered as a weed fish and used to remove from the pond while doing tilapia or sea bass.
Description: Anabas is having an ability to thrive in adverse climatic condition and low oxygen concentration. in an experiment to grow anabas in artificial ponds , it was observed to have a weight of 100-150g whereas the tipalia weights 350-400 g with the same duration.
