| Abstract/Description: | Genetic resources are the basic requirements for the development of new cultivars and the improvement for specific traits. Systematic evaluation and documentation is a significant activity aimed to facilitate utilization in crop breeding. The Germplasm Management Unit of safflower at ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research is the repository for 6901 accessions of safflower germplasm from 56 countries for which detailed characterization and evaluation data has been catalogued. The bulletin includes information on accessions which have been identified as potential donors for various important agronomic traits and against abiotic / biotic stresses. |
