dc.description.abstract | A brief account of instruments available for monitoring operational parameters of fishing craft and gear and the additional features of the indigenous instruments developed for field based measurements on fishing vessels, deck machinery and marine structure are reportd. Flexibility in the selection of parameters in the case of multi-channl systems to a sensor connection with measurement range upto 500 m that are recorded/stored at remote measurement site and on-line of fishing operation by computer depending on the situation are the advantageous features.
