Description |
Marigold (Tagetes spp.), a member of Asteraceae family, is native of central and South America, especially Mexico. The generic name Tagetes was derived from "Tages", of an Estrusch God. Fuchs was first to apply the name Tagetes which was later adopted by Linneaus (Kaplan, 1960).
